DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE BBA FOR YOU TO HELP ME?
No. All volunteers that work with the people needing help are required to be members, but those actually needing the help don’t have to be.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE HELP I RECEIVE?
No you pay nothing. The BBA’s help is given by volunteers who receive no payment, but they may receive incidental expenses resulting from the help they give you. Any expenses incurred come direct from BBA funds, you pay nothing.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT THEM TO HELP WITH?
The BBA’s volunteers will help with all sorts of things that can assist with your living a normal and happy life in the Girona Region of Spain. What they individually are able to do will vary from volunteer to volunteer, but within the Association there is a wide mix of skills.

WHAT CAN’T I EXPECT THEM TO DO?
The BBA’s volunteers can help in a wide variety of ways but there are things they will not be able to do. For example, things like regular housework, heavy lifting or taking sole responsibility for children for any period of time. If you have a specific task in mind and are not sure whether it is appropriate for a BBA volunteer, just ask and we will tell you. Equally, if it is something we are unable to do we may be able to find or recommend another service that can help you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG, ARE THEY INSURED?
All BBA registered volunteers are covered by insurance under the umbrella of the Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social, which is the local regulating body. Each volunteer has been given a translated copy of the main terms of insurance and the cover afforded, which they will be happy to show you.
